Atlanta Falcons Shock The NFL By Dealing Superstar TE Kyle Pitts To NFC Rival In Blockbuster Trade Proposal

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts turned heads with a remarkable 2021 rookie season, but his play has inexplicably regressed ever since.

The Falcons drafted Kyle Pitts fourth overall in 2021, hoping he would form a prolific pass-catching duo alongside Calvin Ridley. Pitts lived up to the hype in year one, hauling in 68 receptions for 1,026 yards and one touchdown.

But Pitts missed seven games in 2022 and finished with a disappointing stat line of 28-356-2. In 2023, he caught 53 passes for 667 yards and three touchdowns.

Though the Falcons picked up the fifth-year option on his rookie deal, one can only wonder if GM Terry Fontenot would listen to offers on Pitts if the price is right. This team has plenty of playmakers for Kirk Cousins as is, namely Drake London, Bijan Robinson, Darnell Mooney and Tyler Allgeier.

One team that could especially use the services of Kyle Pitts is the New York Giants, who haven’t had a player hit 1,000 yards receiving since Odell Beckham Jr. hit the mark back in 2018.

The Giants bolstered their pass-catching room by using the No. 6 pick of this year’s draft on LSU wideout Malik Nabers. But they also lost tight end Darren Waller to retirement, leaving Daniel Jones one playmaker short.

It remains to be seen how Jones will perform in a make-or-break year, but a combination of Nabers and Pitts would have the Giants’ long-term QB in good hands for years to come.

What Giants Should Offer For Kyle Pitts

As we saw with the trade for star edge rusher Brian Burns, Giants GM Joe Schoen is not afraid to deal early-round picks for immediate help.

The Giants should offer the Falcons a 2025 second-round pick and a conditional fourth-round pick that could become a third if New York makes the postseason in 2024. That would be a fair price for a highly-talented TE that should eventually regain his All-Pro form.
