BREAKING: FOX Sports Announces Greg Olsen’s Future With Network After Losing Gig To Tom Brady

NFL fans were left wondering what the future held for Greg Olsen at “NFL on FOX”, with Tom Brady set to replace him as the analyst on the network’s top commentary team.

For the past two seasons, Greg Olsen worked with play-by-play man Kevin Burkhardt and sideline reporter Greg Olsen on FOX Sports’ top NFL broadcasting team. Brady will take on Olsen’s role, but the former Pro Bowl tight end isn’t going anywhere.

According to Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post, Olsen will be on FOX’s No. 2 NFL commentary team with Joe Davis. The latter also calls Major League Baseball for FOX (including the World Series) and is employed as the Los Angeles Dodgers television play-by-play announcer at Spectrum SportsNet LA:

“Greg Olsen will have a relatively familiar broadcast partner this football season. Fox Sports has cemented the obvious pairing of Olsen with Joe Davis on the network’s No. 2 NFL announcing team, sources told The Post.”

In the 2022 offseason, Brady signed a 10-year contract with FOX Sports worth a mammoth $375 million. That deal was signed before Olsen began working with Burkhardt and Andrews, so it was known well in advance that Olsen would eventually be replaced.

It has already been announced that Brady’s FOX Sports’ debut will be the Cleveland Browns’ home opener against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.

Greg Olsen Has Been A Shining Star For FOX Sports

Though all sports analysts and commentators have their fair share of critics, Greg Olsen has been widely praised for his delivery and in-depth analysis. He may not be working with Burkhardt and Andrews anymore, but the good news is that FOX is still keeping him around in a prominent role.

Regardless of how fans will feel about Brady’s commentary, he’s going to enhance the entertainment value of games because of who he is: The most decorated and accomplished NFL player ever, with seven Super Bowl rings, three league MVP awards and the proud owner of every major passing record.

And who’s to say that rival networks may not eventually pursue Olsen to serve on their top team when his deal with FOX runs up?
