Fans want to be entertained. And Jason Kelce wearing a cheap, tiny shirt, dropping an off-color remark, is entertaining.

ESPN knew it had hired someone totally unpredictable when it signed former NFL star Jason Kelce for its Monday Night Countdown cast.

Kelce made his Countdown regular-season debut Monday night, and true to form, he did something unpredictable, almost popping out of his shirt on the set.

Of course, the former Philadelphia Eagles star is no stranger to going shirtless at a football game. Kelce wore a shirt Monday night, but it was about two sizes too small, showing part of his chest.

Kelce then somehow made matters worse with a somewhat off-color comment.

Host Scott Van Pelt started it all by giving Kelce a nice welcome to the show.

“Collectively, we are thrilled to welcome in a six-time first-team All-NFL selection,” Van Pelt said. “Super Bowl champion, future gold jacket wearer, he’s got a podcast that apparently is doing fairly well and all that said, Jason Kelce is wearing a shirt he got at the mall, because he left his travel bag in the truck.”

“It fits my belly now, I’ve lost a little bit of weight, but my tits are still struggling,” Kelce joked, giving his shirt a tug to cover his chest.

ESPN has high expectations for Kelce, who also reportedly drew interest from CBS, NBC, and Amazon, among others, in the offseason. It’s not enough anymore for pregame shows to just offer stats, predictions, and analysis; any fan can find those instantly online.
