According to sources, Jennifer Garner wants the best for ex-husband Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez amidst marriage rumors.

Six years after their divorce, Garner and Affleck have maintained a mature co-parenting relationship—and, despite their separation, it appears Garner has also been a supportive ex-wife in other ways. A source told People that Garner “wants the best” for the Gone Girl actor.

Garner’s reasoning has ties back to their own family. “She wants him happy and healthy so he can be the best dad possible,” the source added. “[Garner] likes that [Lopez] lives a healthy lifestyle and supports Ben’s sobriety. Jen wants that for Ben.”

Garner and Affleck share three kids, Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12. The ex-flames got married in 2005 and filed for divorce in 2017, which was finalized the following year.

Affleck has previously spoken to People about maintaining a cordial relationship with Garner for the sake of their kids. At the time, he felt  “very grateful and respectful” toward the 13 Going on 30 actress. He continued, “Our marriage didn’t work, and that’s difficult. Both of us really believe that it’s important for kids to see their parents respect one another and get along, whether they’re together or not.”

Rumors first began to swirl that Lopez and Affleck’s relationship was on the rocks after they were not seen together for 47 days. Although they were finally photographed together on May 16 going for a couple’s car ride, their appearance did little to quell rumors of trouble in paradise.

A day later, it was confirmed the couple were living apart, with the “On the Floor” singer staying in their $60 million home in Beverly Hills while Affleck is renting a property a few miles away. The following week, a source told People their marriage was “not in the best place at the moment.” Most recently, Lopez stepped out for Memorial Day Weekend solo and is reportedly channeling her energy into work amidst all the noise.
