Jennifer Lopez was asked point blank about rumours her marriage to Ben Affleck is on the rocks this week.

The 54-year-old A-lister was promoting her new Netflix movie, Atlas, in Mexico when an interviewer asked her about her marriage to Oscar winner Ben, 51,

prompting JLo to laugh off the question and reply: “You know better than that.”

But despite the hitmaker’s lighthearted response, body language expert Judi James has revealed the telling sign

that might not offer fans much reassurance when it comes to the status of Jen and Ben’s wedded bliss, pointing out the On The Floor singer looked ‘awkward’.

Judi explained exclusively to Mirror Online: “Lopez is no stranger to high-profile marriage and high-profile divorce so must have been expecting questions like this one,

given all the recent speculation about her relationship with Ben.

“The fact that her body language here makes her appear wrong-footed and awkward might not go far then in terms of the reassurance fans are hoping for.”

Judi continued: “When the question about their relationship comes from the audience her initial reaction is to keep the mic to her mouth as though willing to speak, but she lets out an explosive laugh into it instead.

“Tellingly, her ring hand lifts from her knee as though forming a silent signal of solidity but then she seems to stuff the hand between her knees instead, looking at her host while acting bouncy and smiling.”

“Jen cocks her head as she looks across in a gesture of likeability,” Judi added. “She then seems to try to take control, leaning onto her knees with a serious facial expression. ‘You know better than that’ is her line here, while the ring hand fiddles. Her body language announces ‘that’s it’ as she then wipes her ring hand on her leg and leans back and looks away.”

Judi concluded: “There is tension in the way she holds the mic now though. Gripping it in two hands she appears to be wringing it in a suggestion of anxiety and awkwardness. When the host intervenes, she leans and pats him to register gratitude.”

Meanwhile, followers of television show El Gordo y la Flaca, which shared the footage on social media, commented on the Instagram post noticing the “hurt” in JLo’s face and rushed to her defence.

One person wrote: “She looks so hurt when asked that question. They should just leave her alone.” Another person wrote in Spanish: “She went to promote her movie, not to mention her private life.” A third person wrote: “Instead of being asked about Ben Affleck, ask questions about her work and her next projects. that’s what people care to know not their private life. that’s her problem not ours.” A fourth person wrote: “Jlo has a sad look.”

In mid-May sources claimed that Ben “moved out” of his and Jennifer’s shared family home. Before that, the pair hadn’t been seen in public together since March. Some reports have indicated that the singer was looking for a house of her own apart from her husband.

The two tied the knot in July 2022 after a second engagement. Ever since they got married, their marriage has been in the spotlight after Jennifer revealed that previous relationship with Ben “crumbled under the pressure”.
