Um, apparently, “Ben needed new energy in his life.”

In case you haven’t heard (gonna say that’s…unlikely), Ben Affleck bought himself a new $25 million home amid all the nonstop rumors that he and Jennifer Lopez are divorcing. And apparently, it came as a surprise to J.Lo.

Us Weekly recently reported that, per a source, Ben’s home purchase caught J.Lo “off guard,” although she had “suspicions” because he’d been living in a rental property.

“Ben feels like he’s been weighed down this year,” the insider added. “He will always care for Jen, but he knows the marriage is done, and he wants to focus on himself right now.” Oh, and another person close to the sitch noted that “Ben moving into a new home was the closure of the relationship.”

And speaking of sources, Us Weekly actually found six (yes, six) of them to speak out about the Bennifer rumors, and one of them had this to say: “Ben needed new energy in his life. This one is more his speed. He’s in a better mindset and is pushing forward.”

As for the couple’s allegedly impending divorce, yet! another! person! explained, “Neither of them want this to be dragged out and contentious. Ben and Jen are in agreement that they want it to be seamless.”

And someone else close to the pair revealed, “Behind the scenes, they have been finalizing what that will look like if they pull the trigger. Their main goal is to remain amicable.”

Meanwhile, one final insider confessed to Us Weekly that “Ben doesn’t care about the negative attention” that’s coming with his split, which…’kay!
