Tom Brady reportedly never truly wished for a divorce from Gisele Bündchen, his wife of 13 years.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion and world-famous supermodel announced their divorce late in 2022 after two years of marriage. The beloved power couple have two children, and they agreed to joint custody following their divorce.

According to a new report from the Daily Mail, Brady “never wanted” a divorce from Bündchen. The three-time league MVP apparently was stressed about the idea of raising his kids “with another former partner.”

A source told the outlet the following:
“Tom would actually agree that co-parenting hasn’t been easy. There has been a lot of love lost in their relationship and navigating through that and their careers and finding new love has not been easy.

‘It is safe to say that Tom and Gisele never expected to break up. He never wanted to divorce, especially since his relationship with Bridget ended, and dealing with that to get to a place of good co-parenting took some time. To do it all over again has been stressful.”

It has been reported that Bündchen is in a relationship with her jiu-jitsu instructor, Joaquim Valente. Bündchen herself hasn’t commented on their relationship, while Brady himself was recently linked to Irina Shayk.

Brady announced his retirement in February of last year after 23 seasons. He is set to join FOX Sports in the broadcast booth this fall, where he’ll work on the network’s top commentary team with Kevin Burkhardt and Erin Andrews.
