The View’s Sunny Hostin passionately defended Bennifer urging that the world needs “true love” amid ongoing divorce rumors between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck.
In recent weeks the Hollywood power couple have been under intense scrutiny as they face ongoing divorce rumors as sources claim the pair have been going through a rough patch in their marriage. And while many believe a split could be imminent, Sunny insisted that Jennifer and Ben share nothing but true love for each other and is rooting for them to stay together.
During Wednesday afternoon’s episode of The View, Sunny said: “Ben and Jen that’s true love. The media just seems to be wanting to take down relationships so much and in fact the people that are involved in the relationships like Jennifer Garner, who is Ben’s ex, is trying to help them stay together because we need true love. The world is burning to the ground. Our democracy is at it’s precipice.”
After Sunny expressed her strong support of Bennifer, many fans of The View took to X, formerly Twitter, shared an opposing take on their relationship. One viewer wrote: “@Sunny the world will not come to an END if #Bennifer breaks up!!
“Nobody cared about them then & nobody cares about them now. LET’S MOVE ON!!!” And another added: “Sunny you willing to die on that hill for Jennifer Lopez and Ben huh?” And someone else wrote: “So because it’s Ben and Jen automatically qualifies it as real love Sunny? I don’t think so.” And someone else chimed in: “Sunny better keep her mouth shut because when they file for divorce, what is she gonna say then.”
The celebrity couple, who wed in a spontaneous Las Vegas ceremony in 2022, have been the center of divorce speculation with reports that Ben has even moved out of their shared home. Fueling the speculation, J. Lo seemingly confirmed the tension by liking an Instagram post on the dangers of unhealthy relationships and communication breakdowns. Adding onto this, Jennifer has been spotted attending a number of public events on her own including her most recent Netflix movie premiere and the 2024 Met Gala.
And this week, a source close to the Gone Girl star allegedly told Page Six that he would be open to ending the marriage, stating: “If there was a way to divorce on grounds of temporary insanity, he would.” The same insider went on to add: “He feels like the last two years was just a fever dream, and he’s come to his senses now and understands there is just no way this is going to work.”
