Rob Gronkowski celebrated his birthday on Tuesday, and former teammate Tom Brady had a quirky message for him.
The former teammates played together for both the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and they remain great friends. Gronkowski was part of the recent Netflix roast featuring Brady as the top target man.
With the former tight end turning 35 this week, Brady joked that he pretended to forget Tuesday was the former’s big day.
“Had to make @gronk sweat a little bit…did you think I forgot? Happy birthday to the happiest guy I know,” he wrote on his Instagram story, waiting until right before midnight to share the post.

Rob Gronkowski, arguably the best tight end of all time, will be inducted into the Hall of Fame soon after ending his career with 621 receptions for 9,286 yards and 92 touchdowns.

Brady has admitted that he regrets the roast because it affected his kids.
“I loved when the jokes were about me, but I didn’t like how it affected my kids,” he said on ‘The Pivot Podcast’ this week.
“So it’s the hardest part about it, the bitter-sweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and all of a sudden you realize I wouldn’t do that again because of the way it affected, actually, the people who I care about the most in the world.”
