A play from the NFL Flag Championships has gone viral online ahead of the weekend.

The inaugural event currently taking place in Canton, Ohio, and it appears to have generated some buzz.

One game, in particular, got fans talking as the New York Jets’ affiliate totally embarrassed the opposition in a girls’ game.

The video below shows a player handing the ball off to another player lineup up behind her after the snap. The ball-handler fakes a handoff to another teammate who runs across the backfield, drawing enough attention to the handler, who beats two defenders to reach the end zone.

The NFL Flag Championships The First Of Its Kind

The Pro Football Hall of Fame is hosting the first-ever NFL Flag Championships this week, with all 32 teams represented by regional boys’ and girls’ winners.

“The worldwide broadcast of — and global participation in — the NFL Flag Championships, being held at the center of football excellence in Canton, Ohio underscores NFL Flag’s popularity and its global reach,” executive vice president of NFL football operations Troy Vincent, Sr. said when the tournament was announced earlier this year.

“This tournament emphasizes the importance of Flag Football and will showcase it as the highly competitive cornerstone of affordability, accessibility, and inclusivity of football for all.”

The games are being aired on ESPN 2 this Friday but are also available via ESPN+, NFL+, and ESPN’s YouTube channel.

They will end with a Boys 15U Championship and a Girls 18U Championship on Sunday.
