Patrick Mahomes can oftentimes be a hero on the field during the NFL season and playoffs and he recently showed he can be the same type of person off the field.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback lept in action Monday to protect his 3-year-old daughter, Sterling, from looking up at the sky toward the sun without her protective glasses during the solar eclipse.
Mahomes family gathered together to watch history unfold in the sky during the 2024 solar eclipse. The day almost ended in disaster before Patrick Mahomes saved the day and rescued his daughter Sterling from making a huge mistake.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Brittany Mahomes, wife of Patrick, showed their kids the sky during the total solar eclipse. Patrick can be seen running to block the light from his daughter’s eyes when she tries staring at the sky without her glasses. Brittany and everyone else could be seen laughing in the background as Patrick ran over to cover Sterling’s face and eyes.
“Don’t look, Sterling,” Brittany can be heard saying.

Mahomes and the Chiefs are about two months removed from winning the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, which is their second championship victory in a row and third in the last four seasons.
In the offseason, Brittany and Patrick have celebrated their anniversary, attended a Dallas Mavericks game, attended a Kansas City Current game, and have gone on vacation.

The Chiefs became just the fourth team in NFL history to win three Super Bowls in a five-year stretch and will look to make even more history next season.
Patrick Mahomes has his eyes on winning a third consecutive Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs, a feat that has yet to be achieved in NFL history.
“It [would be] legendary,” Mahomes said, per ESPN‘s Adam Teicher. “No one’s ever done it and we knew it’s legendary to win back-to-back. I think eight other teams have done it. We had heard it all week.”
Even anybody can get it done, it is Mahomes and the Chiefs.
