Ben Affleck looked to be caught in a tense exchange with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, before accidentally backing his Mercedes-Benz into another car.

The former couple share three children together – Violet, 17, Seraphina, 14, and Samuel, 11. Ben and Jennifer were spotted chatting to each other in Santa Monica, California, on Tuesday as they attended a Halloween celebration at their children’s school.

It’s unclear what they were saying to each other, but Jennifer frowned at one point while Ben gestured with his hands. However, things seemed to take a turn in their chat as Jennifer cracked a smile and Ben rested his hand on her arm in a caring manner.

Ben looked smart dressed in a cream blazer and light grey jumper, which he wore with a pair of light blue trousers. The actor kept his look comfy with a pair of red and cream trainers. Jennifer went for a casual outfit, wearing a long sleeve black jacket with a black puffer vest over the top. She seemed to be makeup-free underneath a pair of black sunglasses.

After chatting to Jennifer, Ben got into his car but unfortunately backed his vehicle into another. He seemed to be annoyed as he looked up from behind his wheel.

It’s not the first time Ben has accidentally hit another car with his. Back in February, the Gone Girl actor was involved in a similar incident after parallel parking, with one car in front of him and another behind.

The vehicles in front and behind made it difficult for Ben to get out of the tight spot. He even took a quick break out of his car to drink an iced coffee before hopping back in and trying to drive away.

Unfortunately, Ben accidentally bumped the car in front of him as he tried to pull out of his parking space. He also lightly bumped the car behind him before finally being able to get out and on his way along the road.

Ben and Jennifer’s outing comes as sources say they have managed to get over any “drama of the past”. Speaking to the Daily Mail, the source said “emotions” from their divorce are “long gone”. They also told the publication that both Ben’s ex-wife and his current partner Jennifer Lopez are “friendly” with one another.
