Erik Spoelstra and his ex-wife, Nikki, made headlines earlier this year with their somewhat interesting divorce.
While the real reason for their split was obviously a popular topic of conversation, what fans couldn’t stop discussing in the aftermath was the slick financial move that Spoelstra and the Heat pulled off amid the divorce.
The move wound up saving Spoelstra $120 million.
This week, Nikki returned to the spotlight once again – this time for posting thirst traps on social media following the Heat’s recent loss to the Boston Celtics:
Boston currently holds a 3-1 series advantage in their first-round, best-of-seven showdown against Miami.
Barring something crazy happening, the shorthanded Heat will be bounced from the NBA playoffs shortly.
Spoelstra has developed an almost Gregg Popovich-like reputation in hoops circles over the past few years as a uniquely game-changing coach.
That said, Miami’s roster is simply too injury-ravaged to beat a squad as talented as Boston.
Will the Heat be able to get one more win over the Celtics before their season comes to an end? Time will tell, but either way, Nikki will likely be keeping close tabs on the outcome no matter what.
