Gisele Bündchen always wanted Tom Brady to retire, but when he did it the first time, he came back to play one more season in the NFL. They would divorce months later.
Shortly after the 45-year-old quarterback announced his retirement from football via social media, Bündchen commented on Brady’s announcement post.
“Wishing you only wonderful things in this new chapter of your life,” Bündchen wrote in the comments, along with a prayer hands emoji.
Brady made it clear in his video that he was retiring “for good” this time, in reference to his decision to retire and then unretire over the course of 40 days last year.
“I’m retiring. For good. I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning I figured I’d just press record, and let you guys know first,” an emotional Brady said.
“It won’t be long-winded, you only get one super-emotional retirement essay, and I used mine up last year, so. I…really thank you guys…so much,” he continues, while choking up, “to every single one of you, for supporting me, my family, my friends, teammates, my competitors. I could go on forever. There’s too many. Thank you guys for allowing me to live my absolute dream.”
“I wouldn’t change a thing. Love you all.”
Brady and Bündchen divorced in October, but have continued to focus on co-parenting their children. It does not appear that they will try and rekindle their relationship.
Their divorce paperwork officially declared the marriage as dissolved, and “irretrievably broken.”
Gisele has allegedly already moved on with a new man.
