Tom Brady has retired from the NFL as, arguably, its greatest-ever player. However, he was never the league’s highest-paid.

Brady is now set to earn some real bank on the back of his retirement announcement, with a $375 million broadcasting deal with FOX waiting for him. The contract, signed last year while he was still playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will run for 10 years.

The former quarterback will be making $37.5 million a year for the next decade, which is way more than he made in 23 years while playing in the NFL. Of course, Brady made a lot of money off the field via endorsement and other deals, but his salary pales in comparison to what he’s poised to earn with FOX.

The future Hall of Famer earned $333 million over the span of his 23-year metier. Apart from never being the top earner in the league, Brady was never even among the highest-paid stars and his most lucrative contract came as part of his final year with the New England Patriots, when he signed a one-year deal worth $23 million.

Brady, ever the competitor, always opted to make less so his teams could build competitive squads. It worked out pretty well as he’s leaving the game as a seven-time champion and will still earn some mega bucks following his decision o call it quits.
