Ben Affleck’s three children from his first marriage were present to watch him marry Jennifer Lopez over the weekend, as ex-wife Jennifer Garner took herself to a popular lakeside resort for some me time as the Las Vegas union took place

Jennifer Garner kept herself busy over the weekend as ex-husband Ben Affleck tied the knot with Jennifer Lopez in Las Vegas.

The mum-of-three, 50, enjoyed a trip to Lake Tahoe – a vacation spot popular with many celebrities – as her ex married JLo in Sin City on Saturday.

Ben, 49, and the Hustlers actress, 52, finally became husband and wife after queuing for marriage license in Clark County, Nevada, with the bride wearing a dress “from an old movie” and the actor donning a white suit jacket from his wardrobe.

The newly weds delighted the showbiz world when they rekindled their romance last year, 17 years on from when they famously ended their engagement weeks before their first planned wedding

Following their break up in the 00s, both stars went on to marry other people – and become parents – with Ben tying the knot with Daredevil co-star Jennifer in 2005 and enjoying ten years of marrige before splitting in 2015.

The actor and Jennifer’s three children Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10, were witnesses to their dad’s union with JLo over the weekend, alongside the bride’s 14-year-old twins Emme and Max whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

With her children and ex-husband in Las Vegas, Jennifer made the most of some free time and enjoyed the delights of Lake Tahoe.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, the 13 Going on 30 actress shared an idyllic clip of her legs dangling over the lake as Post Malone’s hit song Circles acted as a soundtrack.

The mum-of-three then went on to share a smiley selfie of herself during a bike ride with her 13.3million followers, and add a promotional video for her brand Once Upon a Farm to her main grid.

Jennifer is yet to comment on her ex-husband’s surprise wedding but has previously spoken highly of the new Mrs Affleck.

Following Ben popping the question to JLo for the second time earlier this year, sources claimed Jennifer was “happy” for the couple and a fan of the Marry Me actress.

An insider told E! News in the wake of the engagement that Jennifer “knows that J-Lo has been a positive influence in certain ways.”

An additional source added that Ben even told his ex-wife and their children about his proposal plans “ahead of time” in order to prepare them.

Ben and first-wife Jennifer have maintained a healthy co-parent relationship since their divorce – so much so it was sometimes speculated they would reunite prior to the actor rekindling his romance with JLo.

Ben even paid tribute to his ex-wife last year, following an infamous interview with Howard Stern where his comments about their relationship prompted some fans to accuse the actor of blaming his ex for his addiction issues.

During the now notorious interview, Ben confessed to host Howard that “part of why” he started drinking was due to feeling “trapped” in the past.

The Oscar winner went on to candidly chat about his marriage and subsequent divorce, confessing that had he and Jennifer remained in a relationship, they would have probably ended up “at each other’s throats.”

After suffering a backlash on the internet, Ben cleared things up during a TV interview a few days later.

Speaking to Jimmy Kimmel, the dad-of-three said: “We talked a lot about my family, you know, alcoholism, struggling with real things, how you have to be accountable and loving, how I work with my ex-wife, how I’m so proud of the way we work together for our kids, the best that we can for them.

“I was thrilled. ‘Wow, I should do more honest, exploratory, self-evaluating things.’ Then I start seeing all this stuff come up on Twitter. And I was like, what is this?”

He went on to explain how he actually praised his ex-wife and stressed that his comments had been taken out of context.

“I would never want my kids to think I would ever say a bad word about their mum,” he added.
