Heading into the 2024 season, the New York Jets have both, a high draft pick and star quarterback Aaron Rodgers to rely on. With the abundant quarterback talents in the Class of 2024, this seems just the right opportunity for the Jets to draft the successor of Rodgers.
In 2020, Rodgers’ former team– the Green Bay Packers did the same when they drafted Jordan Love, who had three years to learn from the former NFL MVP. The season following his departure, as Love took over the starting role, he led the Packers to the playoff divisional round at 9-8.
Given, Rodgers’ current age already exceeds 40 years and the quarterback plans to play 3-4 more seasons in the NFL before ultimately announcing his retirement, there couldn’t be a better opportunity for the Jets to draft his successor. While talking about it on the recent episode of his The Rich Eisen show, the Jets superfan highlighted who should the Jets not waste its high pick on among the top prospects, naming JJ McCarthy.
Even if somehow, someway JJ McCarthy winds up sitting there at 10th overall, the Jets shouldn’t take him. They can’t. They cannot. The 10th overall pick should be a plug and play guy to assist them in winning a championship with Aaron Rodgers. As much as I love JJ McCarthy and I would love to see him wearing Jet green for his entire career.Rich Eisen said
The scenario Rich Eisen mentioned can hardly be stated, considering how the Michigan stellar quarterback is counted among the top five picks of the 2024 NFL draft. But nothing can be said in the NFL until it happens in real and that’s what Eisen elaborated.
Rich Eisen suggested Jets bet all their odds on Aaron Rodgers
Ignoring his off-field activities, the Jets fan Eisen suggested the franchise to bet all their odds on quarterback Rodgers next season, instead of focusing on drafting his successor. The Jets head coach had also previously shared that Rodgers is excited to attack next season.
Rodgers is still Aaron Rodgers as a quarterback in the NFL we are assuming. He looks great. He is returning to the four. His teammates love him and you gotta win with him.Rich Eisen added

Given, that Rodgers has now recovered and has already begun practicing for his solid comeback. The quarterback’s injury last season disappointed many, but the first concern was his recovery and so they gave him the required time for it.
