LeBron James is in no rush to decide his NBA future as Lakers desperately try to re-sign their star player

LeBron James still hasn’t made a decision about his future in the NBA, sources have exclusively told DailyMail.com.

The Lakers star, who refused to confirm whether he’ll leave the franchise after their stunning loss to the Denver Nuggets Monday night, is preparing for a ‘wild’ few weeks of negotiations.

‘Now that he has been able to sit with the loss overnight, he is keeping to himself and trying to unwind before he makes any type of decision,’ an insider has said.

‘Not to say there isn’t a plan, but the Lakers might be firing their coach, and they want to talk to LeBron about that and his future,’ the source added, referencing embattled head coach, Darvin Ham.

The 50-year-old’s job is in ‘serious peril’ and some ‘indicate he is highly unlikely to return’ after his second season came to a disappointing end in a first-round playoff loss, The Athletic reports.

Insiders also tell us the all-time basketball great may not make any decisions until he finds out whether his son Bronny will be drafted.

‘He is going to see what happens with Bronny in the NBA Draft and then decide if he will stay with the Lakers or go to another team,’ a source tells us.

The 19-year-old recently declared he is entering the NBA Draft and the transfer portal, which LeBron addressed during his post-game press conference last night.

‘I just wanna get home to the family, honestly, and start looking at the schedule,’ he said when asked if he’s thought about what comes next.

LeBron has spent the past six seasons with the Lakers, most recently winning the NBA Championship in 2020.
