George Kittle may be lighting up the NFL with his powerful runs and flamboyant touchdowns, but the All-Pro tight end is still an Iowa Hawkeye at heart.

That’s easy to deduce because whenever the chance arrived in the offseason, Kittle would drop by to watch the latest sensation to come out of his alma mater, Caitlin Clark.

Kittle, along with his wife Claire, who starred for the Hawkeyes women’s basketball team during her college years, dropped by Iowa during March Madness to watch Clark and Co. take on No. 8 West Virginia. Despite knowing how good Clark was, the pair were blown away after the Iowa guard dropped 32 points in the game.

She's [Caitlin Clark] charismatic [and] just so authentic. She doesn't fake anything... You can tell how much she loves her teammates.

George Kittle told FOX Sports Digital.

After the game was finished, George Kittle and Claire had the chance to meet Clark. They waited in the Iowa training room.

We were hanging out in the training room after the game. She comes in, hugs all the athletic trainers, talks to everybody, and talks to us a little bit. You just see how much people care for her.

Clark’s monumental performances increased her draft stock. Several analysts projected her to be a very early pick.

The 22-year-old Clark dominated the college scene. She broke and set several NCAA records, including the most points scored most assists, and most three-point conversions. Naturally, she was selected first overall in the 2024 WNBA draft by the Indiana Fever.

Soon after the announcements, Clark’s fever jersey sales skyrocketed. Kittle claimed it was a proud moment for not just him as an Iowa alumni but also for the city as a whole. He confidently said that the Iowa natives will fill every single Fever home game.

With the amount of Iowa fans who are going to travel to see her play, it's going to be a sold-out stadium every time they play.

George Kittle said

The two-time Super Bowl appearance maker is very sure that his household will be a Fever fan from now on. However, Golden State is due a new WNBA team, so when that happens, he may have to reconsider his allegiance.

Yet Kittle promised to buy a Caitlin Clark No. 22 Indiana Fever jersey as soon as he could.

I'll definitely have a Caitlin Clark jersey at some point.

That time will come soon enough. However, before that, Kittle needs to re-join the 49ers squad and begin the offseason training routine.
