Tom Brady on Sunday took a walk down memory lane as he returned to play in his hometown with 100 friends and family members cheering him on. This would be a bad game to have his family in attendance.
The game was rare since it marked only the second time in his entire career that he’s been able to play in the Bay Area. But he noted that being able to travel to his family and friends and play for them is always a special occasion.
The San Francisco 49ers dominated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from the coin flip as the road team was never in the game.
Brady thought he would speak to his friends and family when he got home, but then he found out from someone that they actualyl stayed around to watch the entire beatdown.
Via the New York Post:
“We got our ass kicked, and I was walking from the locker room to the bus — a kind of long walk of 500 yards or so — and just as I got to the bus the woman who I was with said, ‘Hey, didn’t you want to see your family?’” Brady said.
“They stayed?” a stunned Brady asked her.
“So I turned around and walked back,” he continued. “And at least after the game I got to see my sisters, nieces and some cousins. My parents left in the third quarter, thankfully, to get home.”
After losing to the San Francisco 49ers 35-7 on Sunday, Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers dropped to 6-7. In the rout, Brady attempted 55 throws, but he only managed 253 yards and one touchdown.
At the conclusion of the game, Brady met up with 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who picked off the Bucs’ quarterback and actually signed the ball at his request. After receiving the signed ball from Brady, Greenlaw spoke to the media and shared how the whole encounter unfolded.
“The worst thing he could tell me is ‘no’,” Greenlaw said when asked about what inspired him to go up to Brady. “I was always told if you don’t ask, you’ll never know.”
Brady and the 6-7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on the other hand , will look to regroup before a matchup with the Bengals in Week 15.
