NFL legend Tom Brady has teased a second NFL comeback after posting a photo showing off his physique to Instagram.

The 46-year-old has only been retired six months, after walking away from American football for a second time earlier this year. And despite reaffirming his desire to stay retired to focus on his family following his divorce from his long-term partner and mother to two of his children, Gisele Bundchen, as well as looking for new business opportunities, rumours of unretirement have refused to go away.

Brady has now added further fuel to the fire, teasing that he’s thinking about what NFL team’s training camp to turn up to, with the 2023 season just a few weeks away. The seven-time Super Bowl champion posted a photo to his Instagram story while being shirtless and promoting his Brady Brand.

“Side effects of the TB12 Sports protein,” he said. “Mid-August rolls around, and you start thinking about finding a training camp to show up to.”

But a return to the NFL could distract away from his ten-year, $375 million deal with Fox Sports where he will be a sports analyst. Brady also became an investor in Championship side Birmingham City as well as the Las Vegas Raiders.

Brady will also return to the New England Patriots, where he spent two decades of his career, but not in a playing capacity.

He will attend New England’s season opener when they host the Philadelphia Eagles. “[This will] be the beginning of many celebrations to honor Tom Brady and say thank you for what he did for us those 20 years playing for the New England Patriots,” Patriots owner Robert Kraft said.

Many NFL stars have also commented on Brady potentially suiting up again and have refused to rule it out. Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby said on The Voncast : “At the absolute worst, if everything doesn’t go the way it’s supposed to and we need him, I would not be surprised if Tom Brady shows up in a Raiders jersey.

And by “need him”, Crosby means if Jimmy Garoppolo proves to be unreliable for the Raiders after suffering injuries following inking a three-year, $67.5m deal. Garoppolo is stepping up his return from injury by featuring in preseason games for the Raiders.

The quarterback played against the Los Angeles Rams. “It felt good to knock some of the rust off,” Garoppolo said. “To get in the game flow with some of the guys and work on the little things. I thought the guys played well. … I wanted to play and we worked well at a fast pace, which is important in this offense.”
