One of the most anticipated match-ups in week one is in Brazil this weekend, and Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers are slated to face off against Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles.
While it may be some of these players’ first time in the country, sadly, they won’t be able to explore all the landmarks the place has to offer. According to one report, the players have been told not to leave their hotel rooms.
Along with essentially getting a shelter-in-place order, the players were also advised to refrain from responding to suspicious text messages on their phones and not to invite their families on the trip.
Eagles and Packers Strongly Advised To Remain In Brazil Hotel Rooms Among Hostile Protests
Brazil has been the spot for many hostile protests as of late as people are taking to the streets to protest against police brutality and the strict government norms, including the recent ban on Elon Musk’s X.
This may explain some of the restrictions that the players have placed on them and their families, and fans are questioning why the NFL decided to schedule a game in the country in the first place.
While the teams may be under strict severance for their own safety, the game has yet to be canceled, which could cause some issues with the players if no proper security measures are taken at the game.
There has been no further update as of now, so NFL fans are still eagerly awaiting the week one match-up between the two powerhouse franchises. Hopefully, the game will remain entertaining for fans.
