A lot of people seem to have something to say about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship.

Travis’ coaches and teammates, swifties, and even Jason Sudeikis are apparently rooting for the most popular power couple in the world to get married.

At a comedy event, Jason Sudeikis decided to poke fun at the speculation surrounding Travis and Taylor’s relationship, but the Kansas City Chiefs player seemed to find it awkward.

The jokes got a little too personal when they referenced Taylor Swift’s career, and at one point Travis Kelce had to ask them to stop.

Travis Kelce Wasn’t Happy With Jason Sudeikis’ Jokes About Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce decided to join Jason Sudeikis on stage during his comedy routine at the annual Big Slick Celebrity Weekend charity event in Kansas City, and he quickly seemed to regret it. The actor decided to joke about Travis Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift, and the NFL star didn’t look like he was enjoying it.

“Hey Travis, real talk, OK, just the guys here,” Jason Sudeikis joked. “When are you going to make an honest woman out of her?” At that, Travis only rubbed his beard with a tight smile, as can be seen in videos taken by fans. However, the crowd found it hilarious, so the Ted Lasso star went on.

“Look, Taylor doesn’t need to be working anymore,” he continued, referencing Harrison Butker’s controversial comments about how women shouldn’t work outside the home. “I know your kicker agrees with me,” he added for good measure.

Jason Sudeikis continued making jokes on the same topic, even laughing about women’s right to vote. Eventually, however, it became a little too much. While the Kansas City Chiefs tight end was chuckling politely throughout most of the jokes, even if he wasn’t enthusiastic about it, he finally decided to gently put an end to it.

“Guys,” he said, lightheartedly, “you’re really pushing it.” The actor eventually dropped the topic and moved on.

Travis Kelce’s Support For Taylor Swift’s Career

Jason Sudeikis was, of course, joking when he talked about Taylor Swift not needing to work anymore if she married Travis Kelce, but even if he wasn’t, Travis would never even entertain the idea. He has always known how important her career is for the pop star, and that’s actually one of the things that brought him closer.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, just before the Eras tour resumed, Travis Kelce gushed about Taylor Swift’s success.

“We are both very career-driven,” he stated. “I think we both love what we do and any chance that I can show my support to her — knowing that she has shown me all the support in the world throughout the season — it’s just been an amazing experience getting to know Tay.”

In that same interview, he announced he would be joining Taylor on the European leg of her Eras tour. “You know I gotta go support,” adding “There won’t be a bad show, I promise you that.”

He kept that promise, and fans loved to see him enjoying the music during the shows.
