San Francisco 49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey has explained why he didn’t invite former Carolina Panthers teammate Cam Newton to his wedding.

Several NFL players, past and present, were at McCaffrey’s wedding in late June. However, Newton was a notable absentee.

Several of Christian’s Niners teammates were in attendance, with George Kittle and Brock Purdy among them. Head coach Kyle Shanahan was also there.

The RB invited several of his ex-Carolina teammates, including Greg Olsen, Luke Kuechly, and Jonathan Stewart.

Newton, who spent three years playing with McCaffrey, was not around, leading fans to believe Purdy’s presence was the reason, given the former MVP’s criticism of the 49ers quarterback last season.

Christian McCaffrey Made A Stunning Revelation After Cam Newton Seemingly Called Him Out

Speaking during a recent episode of his ‘4th & 1’ podcast, the former Panthers quarterback said he had no idea his former teammate had tied the knot until he saw a photo of Olsen at the wedding pop up online. He went on and on about not receiving an invite, voicing the Purdy suspicions and expressing how jealous he was of Olsen’s drunkenness.

McCaffrey caught wind of the speculation and hopped on social media to clarify things, revealing that Newton hasn’t returned any of the texts he’s sent him over the last four years.

Newton has since responded, asking McCaffrey to send him his number to reconnect.

“@christianmccaffrey 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️whát ñūmbēr dø ÿøū hávē⁉️{šhárē īt hērē}😈🙃łøł -1ØVĖ,” he wrote (exactly like that).

It appears a reconciliation could be in the making, so something good might actually come from fans weighing in on the QB’s no-show and his whining over it.
