Reflecting on his first outing as the lead color analyst for “FOX Sunday” as the the Dallas Cowboys faced the Cleveland Browns, NFL great Tom Brady made one intriguing admission

NFL great Tom Brady has admitted that he is delighted to have a new role in football that does not give him aches and pains the next day, after making his debut as the lead color analyst for “FOX Sunday”.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner is as well placed as anyone on the planet to provide his expert analysis on the action on the field following one of the most storied careers in sporting history. The legendary former quarterback hung up his cleats after his final season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2022 and has now embarked on a new chapter in broadcasting.

Taking to the mic in his first outing in his new role, he sat alongside Kevin Burkhardt in the booth as they witnessed the Dallas Cowboys’ 33-17 victory over the Cleveland Browns. After his first official foray in his new guise, Brady reflected on the experience of providing analysis rather than playing.

During one exchange, Burkhardt made sure to mark the New England Patriots icon’s inaugural appearance, saying: “You’re a broadcaster! How about that, to which the football hero excitedly replied: “We’re here. It’s been quite a journey. I’m excited to be your partner.”

Following on from this, Brady also spoke about the odd sensation of covering a game in the knowledge that he would not be feeling the physical toll of his exertions the next day. He reflected: “I was using my arm and my body for so many years. Now, I get to a stadium and I get to use my voice.

“I might get out there tomorrow morning to throw some passes just to remember what it feels like,” he said, before recalling one exchange, adding: “As Michael Strahan told me in the pregame, ‘You’re gonna wake up on Monday morning, and you’re not gonna be sore.’ That I’m very happy about.”

Praising his contributions on his first day, Strahan later said: “I’m going to the person not even on the field but probably more pressure than any player on the field — Tom Brady. Congratulations, Tom. Welcome to FOX. You got your first one under your belt, big boy. Who won the day? Tom Brady, for me.”

Still, it appeared that Brady did not impress everyone with his showing as lead color analyst, with some fans taking to social media to air their lack of enthusiasm. One person said: “Maybe someone should have listened to Tom Brady actually say words before dropping $300 million on him.

Meanwhile, a second asserted: “Tom Brady is clearly quite nervous in his NFL broadcasting debut. Kinda funny to remind yourself that the greatest quarterback to ever do it is still a human being at the end of the day.

A third added: “I’ll give Tom Brady some time to win me over as a broadcaster, but my early take is he’s very much not a natural at this. He’s basically Drew Brees but they’ll actually let him learn on the job because he’s Tom Brady.”
