REPORT: Baltimore Ravens Star Suffers Neck Injury After Scary Car Accident

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Nate Wiggins was forced to miss practice Thursday with a sudden neck injury.

Head coach John Harbaugh told reporters Friday that it was later revealed that he had recently been involved in a car crash.

Because of his injury, he will miss Sunday’s Week 2 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders.

“They were kinda working through it,” Harbaugh said of Wiggins’ injury. “Looks like he’s not gonna be able to make it to the game. He’s fine. He’s healthy. He’s just not gonna be able to play.”

Drafted 30th overall out of Clemson during the 2024 NFL Draft, Nate Wiggins took 15 defensive snaps with the Ravens in Baltimore’s season-opening loss to the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

Things would only improve from there, as defensive coordinator Zach Orr indicated afterward that he expected Wiggins to see an increased role moving forward.

“Nate’s going to be fine,” he said, per BaltimoreRavens.com. “Nate’s going to play a lot of football for us. He’s going to play a lot of great football for us. … [He] played well in the [Kansas City] game as well. The better he plays, the more he’s going to be out there.”

The 21-year-old first-year cover man is listed behind starting cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey and Brandon Stephens on the team’s depth chart.

Aside from his neck injury, Nate Wiggins also battled a shoulder injury this preseason.

Baltimore Ravens Cornerback Nate Wiggins Had Standout Performance In First Career Game

Baltimore Ravens rookie cornerback Nate Wiggins did not participate in Thursday’s practice due to a neck injury he suffered because of a car accident.

The No. 30 overall pick in this year’s draft will be unavailable for the team’s next game.

He is a huge loss based on what he did against the Chiefs.

Nate Wiggins, a former Clemson star, played just 17 defensive snaps and 11 special teams snaps in his NFL debut against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The rookie allowed just one yard in coverage and received an impressive overall grade from Pro Football Focus:
