One of the most prominent topics in European and American newspapers is the Cyrus family’s broken relationship. Mother Tish was accused of stealing daughter Noah’s lover, while Miley spurned father Billy Ray.

Family feud

Cracks began to appear when Tish Cyrus (born 1967) and country music star Billy Ray Cyrus (born 1961) divorced in 2022 after 3 decades of living together. Both of them remarried in 2023: Tish with Prison Break actor Dominic Purcell (born 1970) and Billy Ray with Australian singer Firerose, 28 years younger.

At the peak of rumors that the Cyrus family was divided, Noah (born 2000) and his brother Braison (born 1994) attracted attention because they did not appear at their mother’s wedding in Malibu, California, in August 2023. Meanwhile, other siblings  Miley , Trace and Brandi were all present.

Although an insider confirmed to ET Online that there was no emotional rift in the family and that Noah and Braison were busy with their own schedules so they could not attend the wedding, netizens are still skeptical. At the same time, Noah posted a photo showing off his brother coming to Los Angeles to visit her. She also wore a T-shirt with a photo of her father, Billy Ray. When his parents divorced in 2022, Noah unfollowed his mother on Instagram, but still followed his father.

Daily Mail ‘s source later explained that the reason Noah was absent from his mother’s wedding was because he was not invited.

“Tish wants a peaceful wedding and doesn’t want Noah to create any trouble. Noah has always craved attention because he never received it in his life. Tish is always on Miley’s side because that’s where the money is. Miley and Tish are like sisters. Noah has always been jealous of this because she has never had a close relationship with Tish like Miley,” according to the source.

A few months later, the noise once again heated up. Noah criticized Miley for disrespecting her below a video of the former Hannah Montana star talking about her sister’s mental health from September 2020.

Everything seemed to calm down for a short time and then once again caused a stir when Miley removed her father and sister from her Grammy acceptance speech. After being named in the Record of the Year category, the singer born in 1992 thanked her mother, sister Brandi, stylists and boyfriend Maxx Morando.

“I don’t think I forgot anyone – but I might have forgotten my underwear. Goodbye,” she joked.

Then, on February 14, Us Weekly ‘s source said that Billy Ray tried to contact Miley several times to congratulate his daughter on her success. However, vocalist Flowers did not respond.

“Miley and Billy Ray are out of each other’s lives. Miley is very close to her mother and is always by her side. The kids have chosen sides, but friends hope the rift doesn’t last forever,” the source said.

Why did Noah scold his mother?

While netizens are confused about the messy relationship in Miley’s family, on February 27, Us Weekly finally found the answer and the answer is truly shocking.

Insiders say Noah had a crush on Dominic before Tish started pursuing the actor. More importantly, Mrs. Tish knew clearly about her daughter’s feelings but still attacked Dominic.

“The trouble between Noah and Tish goes beyond what people think. Noah is devastated because Tish took Dominic away from her,” the source said.

In early February, Tish shared about her relationship with her newlywed husband on the Call Her Daddy podcast .

The female manager said Dominic first contacted her in 2016 through a message on Instagram. At that time, the actor gave Tish good words and expressed his concern for her family. However, Tish did not respond.

A year later, daughter Brandi told her mother Dominic had blocked her account. Tish said that mother and daughter found that action funny.

Some time later, after divorcing Bill Ray in 2022, Tish proactively contacted Dominic and received a response. They started their relationship from there.

Regarding this issue, a source close to Cyrus’ family emphasized to Daily Mail that Noah and Dominic have never had any romantic relationship.

“Noah has never dated Dominic. They also don’t live together. She is delusional into thinking otherwise and is trying to create a narrative that portrays her as a victim,” the source said.

The people involved have not spoken out about the source of the conflict. However, two months before Tish got married, Noah secretly got engaged to her boyfriend Pinkus. The two publicly announced their love for each other in April 2023.
