Even though Klay Thompson is no longer with the Golden State Warriors, he still jokes around with Draymond Green and Stephen Curry. Thompson posted a video on his Instagram account mocking his upcoming matchup with the Golden State Warriors in the next season.

Thompson plays the role of Sonny in the meme, which was shared on Instagram by the page Stoic Archives. Sonny transfers to dance gangs because he isn’t happy with his wages. The meme shows Klay Thompson as Sonny, Kyrie Irving, Luka Doncic, Steph Curry, and Draymond Green fighting one another in a dance war.

“I’m crying! Sonny switched up quick!” Klay wrote on his IG story.

It’s encouraging to see that Green, Curry, and Thompson don’t hold any grudges over his departure from the Warriors. That said, Klay Thompson and the Warriors organization cannot be seen similarly. Klay wanted to continue with them, but they wouldn’t give him what he wanted, turning down his $40 million, two-year offer.

Although Thompson’s recent pick-up game film may have alarmed some fans, it’s logical to assume that a player of his age and with Thompson’s injury history won’t give it his best in a casual pick-up game. We’ll know more about Thompson’s skill level and suitability with the Mavericks.

Klay Thompson, Combined With Luka Doncic And Kyrie Irving, Might Help The Dallas Mavericks Become Champions Next Year

The Mavericks made a great selection in Klay Thompson. In addition to being a consistent and trustworthy scorer, he also carries championship experience, which is a priceless asset. Before Klay arrived, nobody on the Mavericks roster besides Kyrie Irving had ever won an NBA title.

Thompson contributed significantly to the team’s dynasty as a critical player in all four of the Warriors’ NBA title victories from 2015 to 2022. That experience has no value, but Thompson gives the team significant maturity.

Thompson has consistently shot 41.3 percent from three-point range over his career. But in the 2023–24 season, he shot 38.7% from outside the arc, which was only the second-lowest percentage in his career and the second-lowest overall.

In addition, Klay Thompson had one of the worst three-year shooting percentages of his career (43.2%). Despite these difficulties, he finished the previous season with a career-high free-throw shooting percentage of 92.7%.
