Klay Thompson made headlines by joining the Dallas Mavericks after an illustrious career with the Golden State Warriors, where he won four NBA titles alongside Stephen Curry. The bond between the “Splash Brothers” created unforgettable memories for both them and their fans. However, with Thompson’s move to the Mavericks, those days are now a thing of the past.
Recently, Thompson and Curry were spotted at a Las Vegas Aces game. They were joined by Mavericks’ rising star, Dereck Lively II. As Thompson went over to interact with his new teammate, Curry couldn’t resist adding a touch of humor to the situation. He jumped in with a playful “ew” directed at Thompson and Lively.
The moment quickly caught the attention of NBA fans. Fans couldn’t get enough of Curry’s hilarious reaction, with many expressing their love for the off-court dynamic between the former teammates. The iconic relationship between the “Splash Brothers” continues to be a fan favorite, even as they find themselves on different teams.

Some fans found Curry’s reaction particularly relatable, joking that they would respond the same way if they saw their old friend with a new partner.

Others, however, couldn’t help but feel a bit emotional, interpreting Curry’s reaction as a sign of him being secretly hurt by the separation from his longtime teammate.

How Many Years Did Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson Play Together?
Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson teamed up in 2011 when the Golden State Warriors drafted Thompson. Over the next 13 seasons, they formed one of the most iconic duos in NBA history. Both players began their careers with the Warriors, and up until recently, they had only ever played for this team.
Curry and Thompson played 666 games together on the court, during which time they redefined 3-point shooting in the NBA. They are the only teammates in league history to combine for more than 600 3-pointers in a single season.
However, Thompson’s relationship with the Warriors deteriorated after returning from a leg injury in 2021. This strain became even more apparent last season when Thompson was removed from the starting lineup. This ultimately led to his departure from the Warriors, and his long-standing partnership with Curry ended.
