Patrick Mahomes Sr. Facing Up 10 Years In Prison
Mahomes Sr. is now awaiting sentencing, which will take place on September 23. He faces up to 10 years in prison, as well as a $10,000 fine, but should get hit with a lighter sentence following his guilty plea.
The former baseball player was charged in April after his arrest in February. He reportedly showed signs of drunkenness during the traffic stop and had an open can of Coors in his car at the time.
He told officers he had drinks prior to driving.
The arrest came shortly before the Chiefs quarterback won his third Super Bowl. Patrick Mahomes Sr. attended the game at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas but didn’t make a big show of it.
The legal troubles are nothing new. Mahomes Sr. was arrested and charged with DWI second or more in 2019 and was hit with a 40-day prison sentence. He served the time on weekends.
TMZ reported he was busted for driving with an invalid license in Texas back in June.
