Whether on the biggest stage in the Super Bowl or in a preseason game, playing in front of an NFL crowd can be nerve-wracking, especially for a rookie.
Not for quarterback Caleb Williams, though, apparently.
Prior to playing in Week 2 of the preseason, Williams told quarterbacks coach Kerry Joseph that his nerve scale was at a “zero” in last week’s episode of Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Chicago Bears.
“I don’t get nervous. Not since my first game of high school [for Gonzaga] versus Gillman,” Williams said.
“I ain’t gonna lie, you might’ve lied when you said you don’t get nervous,” Hardman said during a quick dap-up with the young quarterback. “Your first game in the NFL, you’re gonna be nervous, bro.”
Williams responded quickly, with a smile across his face: “We’re gonna see. I’m gonna let you know. I’m gonna let you know.”
The next time Williams hits the field will be his official pro debut, so Hardman will get his answer.
