Ravens’ Kyle Van Noy blasts Chiefs staff for ‘unprofessional’ approach to his eye injury

Ravens linebacker Kyle Van Noy ripped the Chiefs’ medical staff for its handling an eye injury he suffered during Baltimore’s loss on Thursday night, calling their response “unprofessional.”

The 11-year NFL veteran suffered a fractured orbital bone during the third quarter when his helmet went under his chin strap while he was at the bottom of a pile that included Patrick Mahomes and Nnamdi Madubuike, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Van Noy expressed frustration that the Chiefs’ training staff was slow to assist him.

Kyle Van Noy #53 of the Baltimore Ravens addresses the media during training camp at Under Armour Performance Center Baltimore Ravens on August 12, 2024 in Owings Mills, Maryland.

“I was disappointed in the way the training staff of the Chiefs handled the situation,”  Van Noy said on the podcast he co-hosts with former NFLer Gerald McCoy. “I was supposed to see an ophthalmologist. They took an entire quarter to get down to talk to me in the locker room, which, to me, is unacceptable, because then you start thinking, ‘What if I was trying to go back in the game? What if I was really, really hurt?”

Van Noy continued: “Your expectation of someone to be down there as the training staff asked them to be down there would’ve had a little bit more urgency and just the way it took time was super unprofessional to me.”

Kyle Van Noy suffered an orbital bone fracture on Thursday.

The outside linebacker hasn’t practiced since the injury occurred.

He appeared on the episode wearing dark sunglasses.

Van Noy said the injury was “moderate” and suffered a “pretty good fracture.”

He did commend the job of the staff in the emergency room at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
