New videos have surfaced of San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall being led to an ambulance after he was shot in the chest during a terrifying armed robbery incident yesterday afternoon.

On Saturday afternoon, news emerged that Ricky Pearsall was shot in the chest by a robber while the rookie was on his way to an autograph signing event. The San Francisco Police Department detailed the incident:

At 9:55 p.m. EST, the 49ers later stated that Pearsall “is in serious but stable condition.” The San Francisco Police Department is asking anyone with information to come forward. Tipsters may remain anonymous.

Per David Lombardi of The Athletic, the SFPD stated that the suspect is a 17-year-old from Tracy, California. San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins added that a decision on possible charges will likely be made by next Wednesday, per Lombardi.

Ricky Pearsall Is Preparing For Start Of A Promising NFL Career

The 49ers selected Pearsall 31st overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, making him the fifth wide receiver taken in the first round. Pearsall joins a star-studded 49ers offense led by Brock Purdy, Trent Williams, Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle.

In his final season at Florida, Pearsall caught 65 passes for 965 yards and four touchdowns. With Samuel only under contract for two more years, the path is there for Pearsall to emerge as one of the top playmakers in San Fran’s offense.

The 49ers open their 2024 season with a home tilt against Aaron Rodgers’ New York Jets on Sept. 9.
